Meet Kyren

KyrenAs a student athlete and football player at St. John Vianney High School, Kyren is serious about maintaining his good health.

He works out three times a week and does running and conditioning drills almost every day. For recovery, he likes to do cryotherapy.

“Imagine running around in Antarctica with no clothes on,” Kyren jokes. “That’s what cryotherapy feels like. But I do it because it helps.”

Over the course of his athletic career, Kyren has looked to Dr. Robert Sigmund of Signature Orthopedics South County for help staying in peak condition.

“Dr. Sigmund is great and I’ve had a really positive experience with him,” Kyren says. “He’s the team doctor for Vianney, and he’s on the sidelines at almost every game.”

Kyron plans to graduate from high school early and attend the University of Notre Dame in spring of 2019. He and his family say Kyren could not have achieved this dream without Dr. Sigmund.

“Dr. Sigmund talked through with us ways to keep Kyren healthy and able to play through his junior year of high school, an important recruiting year,” Kyren’s mom, Taryn, says. “He gave him a cortisone shot so Kyren could play his very best when colleges were scouting. We appreciated him exploring different kinds of treatment options.”

Kyren has the support of his entire family, including his parents and his sister Grace, who is also a student athlete. “We are so proud of Kyren and the man he has become,” Taryn says. “We can’t wait to see what he accomplishes in the next four years.” +
