Five new orthopedic surgeons join signature

Signature Orthopedics, a division of Signature Medical Group, proudly welcomes five new specialists to its practice: Qasim Zaidi, MD, Theodore Rummel, DO, Patrick Reardon, MD, Nathanael Olson, DO, Nicholas Wilson, MD. All physicians are currently accepting new patients at their respective locations.

“We are very fortunate to have these talented physicians join our team,” said Chad Sackman, CEO of Signature Medical Group. “Their expertise will complement our orthopedic services and further allow us to treat and care for our patients in the St. Louis community.”

Zaidi, a board-certified spine surgeon, treats all conditions of the spine and offers minimally invasive spinal surgery options. Zaidi sees patients at the Signature Orthopedics South County and Fenton locations. His most common procedures include lumbar microdiscectomy, laminectomy, ACDF and artificial disc replacement. Zaidi completed orthopedic training at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. Following his residency, he completed a specialized fellowship in spine surgery, focusing on degenerative conditions, minimally invasive surgery (MIS), advanced image-guided navigation and robotic surgery.

A board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Rummel specializes in hand and wrist as well as general orthopedic care and sports medicine. Conditions he treats includes arthritis, carpal tunnel, tendonitis, and tennis elbow. Rummel takes special interest in chronic and non-healing wounds. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served as both a pilot and battalion surgeon. Today, he performs surgery at Progress West Hospital in O’Fallon, Missouri and sees patients at Signature Orthopedics O’Fallon or St. Peters.

Located at Signature Orthopedics South County and Fenton, Reardon specializes in sports medicine, prevention, evaluation and orthopedic surgery for injuries such as meniscus cartilage injuries, rotator cuff problems, shin splints, ACL tears, sprains, fractures and dislocations. He completed his residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Reardon then went on to complete his fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at Vanderbilt University.

Olson focuses on hand and wrist orthopedic care at Signature Orthopedics in South County and Fenton. He is certified through the American Society of Surgery of the Hand, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society. Following his residency at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra Northwell Health Plainview Hospital in Plainview, New York, he went on to complete his fellowship at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Wilson is a board-eligible total joint reconstruction surgeon. His areas of interest include total knee and partial knee replacement as well as total hip replacement, ankle fractures, meniscus tears, carpal tunnel release, trigger finger release and wrist fractures. Dr. Wilson completed his residency at Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio, and an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Greenville, South Carolina. He is currently accepting patients Signature Orthopedics in O’Fallon and St. Peters. +
