KANSAS CITY – Kansas City Bone & Joint Clinic (KCBJ), Overland Park, KS, a division of Signature Medical Group, is pleased to announce that Michael Latteier, MD, has joined their practice effective August 2016.
While Dr. Latteier is new to KCBJ, he has been in practice since 2007, served three years active duty in the Air Force as an orthopedic surgeon deploying to Afghanistan during that time. After military service Dr. Latteier spent an additional year of training, completing a joint replacement fellowship with Joint Implant Surgeons in Columbus, Ohio. During this year, he assisted in performing over 1000 joint replacement surgeries. He then took a position with Banner Medical Group in Phoenix, where he spent five years as the joint replacement specialist in the group.
Dr. Latteier is experienced in less invasive techniques including partial knee and anterior hip replacements. He also specializes in treating patients who are experiencing problems with previous joint replacements or need revisions. He is committed to understanding his patients' concerns and finding the best possible options to restore their mobility, function and quality of life.
Dr. Latteier is board certified in 0rthopedic surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. As a member of these national organizations, he remains active in keeping up with the latest research and techniques.
Dr. Latteier attended Dartmouth College for undergraduate studies and the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California for medical school. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Wayne State University in Detroit.
While he finds his work very rewarding, in his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, playing guitar and biking.
