    Hi, my name is Dr. Timothy Billharz and I practice obstetrics and gynecology in Liberty, Missouri.

    The thought of getting to help people day in and day out with their health in a way that I could get an education and put it to use was very appealing and turned me on to becoming a doctor.

    Every single person is an individual. In our world, there's a lot of time where people want us to follow a specific protocol and I just eschew that and say: every patient is an individual and we need to treat them as such. My philosophy with patient care is I need to give them all the information and we need to make a decision together that they're comfortable with and takes into account all of the particular details about their situation.

    I like to take time with patients and I like to just explain things in detail and help them feel comfortable because generally they're going to be in an uncomfortable or unfamiliar situation. But a lot of that is just fear of the unknown. Once you can get past that, generally it's a smooth ride.

    My passion for doing this job extends beyond just the practice here. I love to do medical mission work. I'm passionate about it. I like to get my kids involved with it. It just really helps me stay grounded and know that I do this because of the patients and no other reason.
