Dr. Otto is panelist for discussion about rotator cuff surgery

At Signature Medical Group, our orthopedic specialists rank among the top in their profession.

That’s why we’re proud to announce that Dr. Randall J. Otto will be a guest panelist at the Missouri State Orthopaedic Association’s 48th Annual Meeting March 31-April 1, 2017, at Washington University in St. Louis.

Dr. Otto works for Premier Care Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, a division of Signature. He is on a panel speaking about repairing a rotator cuff injury through reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (reverse TSA).

Reverse TSA helps patients with  large rotator cuff tears who have developed a complex type of shoulder arthritis called “cuff tear arthropathy.’’

A reverse TSA works better for patients with that condition because it relies on different muscles to move your arm.

Reverse TSA may be right for you if you have:

  • A completely torn rotator cuff that cannot be repaired.
  • A previous shoulder replacement that was unsuccessful.
  • Severe shoulder pain and difficulty lifting your arm away from your side or over your head.
  • Tried other treatments, such as rest, medications, cortisone injections, and physical therapy that have not relieved your pain.

At Signature Medical Group and Premier Care Orthopedics, we treat all types of conditions for the shoulder, arm, hands and wrists. Our orthopedic specialists also are adept in healing injuries in the hips, legs, knees, back and neck.

You can often see us the same day you make an appointment. We also offer Orthopedics Now!, a clinic for emergent orthopedic issues with convenient evening and weekend hours, at our South County location.

So why wait? Make an appointment today and start your healing.
