About Michael McCabe MD
Dr. McCabe joins Carondelet Orthopaedic Surgeons after having served as an orthopaedic surgeon in the U.S. Navy specializing in sports medicine. His service to our nation and expertise in the medical field have earned him numerous awards, including the Joint Service Commendation Medal for his four years of service to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., where he provided orthopaedic care to wounded soldiers as well as other military service members and their families.
He also served as the sports medicine sideline consultant to the U. S. Congress intramural athletics program. His passion and dedication to injury prevention and repair have made him an excellent surgeon and educator, evidenced by his time as Associate Residency Program Director while at Walter Reed as well as the numerous professional presentations he has given and peer-reviewed orthopaedic articles he has authored and co-authored. He treats a variety of athletic and chronic conditions of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee and has a particular interest in hip arthroscopy.
Dr. McCabe is a sports enthusiast and can often be found hiking, playing soccer and watching baseball with his wife and son. When not participating, he is on the sidelines providing medical coverage for athletes of all ages and skill levels.
