About Craig R. Ruble MD
A graduate of De Soto High School, Dr. Ruble has always wanted to help people in his home area. He founded Jefferson County Orthopaedics in 2002. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He treats a variety of conditions affecting the bones, joints and muscles, but one of his main focuses is on minimally invasive and outpatient hip, knee, and shoulder replacement surgery.
Dr. Ruble has been performing outpatient total joint replacement at the Total Joint Center of St. Louis since 2014. He also has Sports Medicine fellowship training in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder.
Dr. Ruble earned his doctor of medicine from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine, graduating at the top of his class. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio, and his Sports Medicine fellowship at The Institute for Bone & Joint Disorders in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Ruble enjoys basketball, running, weightlifting and spending time with his wife and family. Dr. Ruble has several other local business interests and serves on many boards. He is the team physician for Mineral Area College and St. Pius High School and treats many athletes from Jefferson County as well as the surrounding counties. His main office is in Festus, but he also sees patients and performs surgeries in Ste. Genevieve.
Dr. Ruble’s vast experience with the musculoskeletal system allows him to provide exceptional healthcare to his patients consisting of a wide range of services, improving his patients’ quality of life. He is proud to be an independent, non-hospital employed physician, which gives him much more flexibility to do what he feels is in the best interest of his patients.
